Breaking Down the Vikings Initial 53-Man Roster
The Vikings released the first version of their 53-man roster; I break down notable cuts, retentions, practice squad candidates and potential future additions or subtractions.
The Vikings released their initial 53-man roster, as required by league rules. There’s not much context that a lead sentence can give you that you don’t already know, so I’ll just drop an image of my spreadsheet attempt at a depth chart based on this roster.
I’ve included every player who has been on the roster since August 1st, at least as far as I can tell. Players in red have been waived or had their contract terminated.
Players in gold have been waived with an injury designation or moved directly to injured reserve. Players in green have been traded and players in blue start off the season on either the NFI or PUP lists, where they are eligible to return after the fourth week.
The Vikings traded Vederian Lowe to the Patriots for a sixth-round pick and placed Chris Reed on the NFI/Reserve list to begin the season.
