Friday Recap: Ty Chandler, QB Sneaks, Tesla Crashes and TikTokrination
This week's Friday recap focuses on Ty Chandler and QB sneaks as far as the Vikings go. But outside of football are discussions on the impact of TikTok and Tesla's shockingly dangerous quality control
A lot to work with this week, though most of my content was on-air, rather than in print. Still, we have good pieces from this week’s Substack as well as a few from others — like Nazis on the platform, TikTok’s political impact and the Packers’ eventual defensive coordinator.
I will do my best to isolate when pieces I link are videos, podcasts and/or behind paywalls (marked with a $).
Work I Published:
This does not count as work I’ve published, but I am technically in this webcomic, the Draw Play
I was on the Bet The Process podcast to talk about NFL futures and Brock Purdy
I looked over the statistics and the film to assess the arguments for starting Ty Chandler ahead of Alexander Mattison
Luke Braun looked over the film to discuss quarterback sneaks ($)
James Pogatshnik breaks down this week’s Hell League matchups, discusses Chris Boswell, and gives us a lesson in pronunciation
The most recent Norse Code interviewed Pride of Detroit’s Jeremy Reisman about the Detroit Lions

Work I Liked (Sports):
Kevin Seifert may have the most comprehensive Ty Chandler piece this week
Seifert also covered the change in the Vikings’ turf at US Bank stadium and their practice facility, coming in 2024
Ben Solak explores what’s wrong with the Eagles offense
Ted Nguyen’s take isn’t that the offense is broken, just that it’s stale ($)
Nora Princiotti breaks down how exactly Aaron Rodgers screwed the Jets with his shenanigans
Jason B. Hirschorn is convinced the Packers will change DCs this offseason and it could be Ejiro Evero, who they play this week
Work I Liked (Non-Sports):
Substack has a Nazi problem
Reuters did a deep, thorough investigation into the shoddy workmanship of Tesla vehicles — life-threatening parts failures, including axles cracking while driving on low-mileage vehicles — and Tesla’s efforts to cover those failures up and blame customers.
There’s been some discussion about whether the reason there has been such a disparate view of various political issues between the young and old has to do with TikTok (in this case, Senator John Fetterman believes that may be why the youth are generally not pro-Israel). Parker Molloy convincingly argues that TikTok is not a culprit.
